Riders,

If you have not seen the Eagle today there is a picture of Richard lying  
on the ground being worked on by two BFD paramedics after being struck  
from behind as he rode south on the shoulder of Harvey Mitchell Parkway  
by a trailer carrying a n oversized load. Richard is at St. Joselp's in  
serious condition with a compound fracture of the left arm, broken ribs  
and severe road rash. The driver that struck Richard was the first to  
call in the report to the BPD. Richard was wearing a helmet as is his  
usual practice and it is credited with preventing more serious injuries  
by BPD officer Dennis Thane. See

Steve, the article does not mention the status of the driver being  
cited. Would you check with the BPD to see what their intentions are  
inregarding to citing the driver.
