Or is it?  There is a very good piece in the Washington Post about walking, 
and all of the hazards that it entails in our ever expanding suburbs and 
commuter routes.   It's nothing we haven't all thought about, and discussed 
at length, but might be a nice wake-up call for others who are not quite as 
aware of the problem.
