All good things must come to an end....and it is time for me to part with my
first road bike, my beloved Mary Jane ( from the Tom Petty song...). MJ has
served me well, but is now just being neglected, catching dust, and taking
up precious space in my spare room.
Specs: 1999 model Trek 2000. This means an aluminum frame and a carbon
fork (does a nice job of taking the sting out of the aluminum), most
components are Shimano Tiagra. Beginner friendly triple chain ring! 54 cm,
would fit someone in the 5'5" to 5'8" range. SPD pedals, Terry Women's
Liberator saddle. The color is a very gender neutral "blackberry," which
is a very dark purple. I think this bike would be perfect for one of our
PMS/Social ride regulars looking to upgrade from a mountain bike to a road
bike without a huge investment. I've always taken good care of MJ, and even
used my body to protect her the one and only time we crashed. I broke my
collarbone, MJ escaped with a couple scuffs on her brake hood.
If anyone is interested in taking this pretty girl home, respond to this
e-mail or give me a call at 676-0487.
