BVC-CHAT Parade Costume Ideas

My mother in law suggested the following when I asked if she could help
me out with a nutcracker themed parade costume.....

It sounds like some fairly easily implemented ideas to me.

I'll have to think about the nutcracker thing. Do you want to dress
like a
soldier -- typical nutcracker? Cover some large circles with gold
foil
paper (or silver in a pinch) and hot glue (or whatever) these to your
front -- one row on the left and one on the right. If you can find
some
wide ribbon, use that to make a big X across your chest from shoulder
to
waist. It could go over the back, too. Use safety pins to pin this.

A colorful shirt would work best -- red or blue or green maybe. The
ribbon
can be any contrasting color or just white. I'll have to think about a
hat.
Most of the ones I have seen have hats sort of like a top hat. If you
can
find some white gloves, that would be good. Maybe some of those white
canvas work gloves would do. I don't think I'd worry about doing
anything
to your pants.

If you want to go all out, put red "rouge" spots on your cheeks. I
have
seen nutcrackers with crowns for hats.

When is the costume committee getting together? I am not artistically
talented, but I can use a glue gun.
