Hello dear fans. Thought it might be time for a short
update so here we go. Right before I was about to
travel back to the Motherland, I made a quick stop
over in Herning Denmark, to participate in a criterium
and also to see the roots of my director Bjarne Riis.
The criterium had many turns on wet cobblestones and
was pretty dangerous. I was very happy to finish the
race intact because I was traveling back to America
the next day and it is never fun to fly wounded. But
there lay one last obstacle before I could leave for
home – exiting the hotels restaurant. In this
particular restaurant there was this double swinging
door made out of very thick glass. Somebody had left
the restaurant right before me and as the door swung
back I put my hand to the glass. I then all I heard
was the sound of shattering glass. When I looked down
at my wrist I almost passed out. As it turned out once
again I was destined to fly wounded. I had severed a
nerve and a tendon in my right wrist and underwent
surgery in Denmark. It was after the surgery that I
briefly thought about writing a Zagat guide to
hospitals around the world.

Now I am back in Utah recovering from that freak
accident and helping to plan my wedding. It is nice to
be back home – the mayor is even going to throw me a
homecoming party. I know the Tour is well over but I
do have one more interview to share. It is with Thor
Hushvod of Credit Agricole:

DZ: Thor what does it feel like to have the coolest
name in the peleton?

TH: I didn’t know it was a cool name.

DZ: Trust me it is.

TH: O.k. then. It feels pretty cool then.

DZ: Thanks for the interview.
