[BVC-CHAT] Dr. John Tanner's cycling accident last Saturday on 2818

I have seen no one on the chat list address this topic.

Does anyone have any more information besides what we've been able to read in the newspaper?

Was he wearing a helmet?

Thrown 100 ft?  That's a third of the length of a football field.  Was he on the shoulder (is there even a shoulder on that part of the road between Rio Grande and Southwood?)  Was he occupying the right lane of 2818?  Was he trying to cross the road?

I heard that the wedding cake in the truck got messed up and they called off the wedding.  Was the driver just not paying attention?  Or maybe her mind was elsewhere, she did not see him, or "fill in the blank".

Does anybody know anything else about the accident?  Broken bones, head injury, ICU at the College Station Med....at least I hear he's talking now.

I'm surprised no one has commented on this truck/bicycle accident.  Has anyone heard any reliable information?
