The best kind of bike for any ride is the one that gets ridden. Hope you're
having fun today!

Jared, Jim, James, and Jeff.

expect an average speed of around 14-16 mph. I got fitted for a
randonneuring bike up in Seattle over the holidays, but I probably won't
order it/pick it up until sometime around July. So, slow and steady she
goes!

Rebecca - what bike do you plan on riding tomorrow? Meant to ask yesterday,
just forgot.

plan a second trip for a Saturday. :-)

I like Jim's route - sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
Hempstead looks like it's got some eats along Austin where the route cuts
through. There's also some sort of fancy herb garden/cafe kajigger...but
nevermind, they're not open on sundays. Poop. O well. In any case, see you
at the Exxon at 7.

first would be for about a mile just north of and one approaches the
Navasota River. Immediately after crossing the river, you exit on the
business 6 route and go into Navasota. The second place in when you get to
SH6 on CR 324. From 324 it is about 3 miles on the shoulder of SH 6 to
Cedar Crk Rd. where you would turn right (this is by the Exxon about a mile
or so south of the county line). The first mile or so, of this shoulder,
would be in Grimes Co. and the rest in Waller Co., which has a wider
shoulder and smoother pavement. Also, in the middle of Sunday morning, the
traffic will be fairly light.

with a minimal distance on SH6 and at that time of the morning, the traffic
will be light.

Navasota, and then Jim's route could kick in. Alternatively, follow Jim's
route into Navasota, stay on 6Business to 515 and thence to 105 and ride
its big wide shoulder a short 3 miles to 362 and take through Whitehall and
Waller all the way down to Brookshire. I was in a race many years ago on
the roads around Whitehall and they were very good.
